Level Two Sketch

8-Week Course
Saturdays, 1:00 – 4:00 pm
March 15th – May 3rd, 2025
You’ve started your sketch packet, now let’s make it stronger! This class is an intermediate sketch writing course that will explore more complex styles of sketch writing. Students will learn how to better craft sketches, pitch their ideas with confidence, and expand their writing portfolio. This class also dives into the editing and rewriting process in more depth than our intro level. By the end of the class students will have a solid body of work that can be submitted for shows at DCC and beyond!
This class is eight weekly sessions running from March 15th to May 3rd, 2025. The instructor is Dan Sybert. Classes are non-refundable and all sales are final. Students must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate, and must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook.

March Improv 101

Fourth Saturdays at 4:00pm
Learn the joy of improvisation! Discover the power and delight of “Yes, and!” in a world that often says “No but!” Spend an hour at Dallas Comedy Club for some no pressure, all fun improv! Learn to act without a script and write on your feet with 0% fear and 100% fun! This is the perfect place for absolute beginners to get acquainted with the art of improvisation. All skill levels are welcome, but beginners are especially encouraged to try this class out. So if you’ve ever watched shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway? or Curb Your Enthusiasm and thought, “This looks like a lot of fun…” then come give this whole ‘improv’ thing a try!
Intro to Improv takes place at 4:00pm on the fourth Saturday of each month. The class will be led by a qualified faculty member from the DCC Training Center. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate. Students age 15 and up may attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. An RSVP is required as we only have 20 spots available each month.

Mandatory performances: 4/6, 4/13, 4/27, 5/11
You’ve got a solid understanding Long Form Improv. You discovered your strengths and weaknesses with personalized feedback in previous classes. It's time to learn to be a team! This advanced study class focuses on what it takes to be a truly great team. Working with your instructor and new teammates, you’ll receive feedback on how to connect as a group onstage and better support each other's choices in scenes. Class includes four public performances during class time so that students receive optimized instruction on performance quality and stagecraft. By the end of this class you will be a seasoned performer and a member of the DCC alumni community!
This class is eight weekly sessions running from May 24th to May 12th, 2025. The instructor is Ian Caruth. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable. All students must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.

Intro to Stand-Up

There’s nothing more exhilarating, exciting, and confidence boosting than performing stand up comedy! It can be intimidating, sure, but with the right guidance and instruction, it’s something that anyone can do. This goal-oriented course will get you up onstage doing stand up for the first time with confidence, joy, and an itch to keep coming back for more! You will emerge from this class with disciplined writing tools, informative personal feedback and important advice, and a solid 5-7 minute set that you’ll be eager to share with the world.
This class is eight weekly sessions running from April 8th to May 27th, 2025. The instructor is Magen King. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable. All students must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.
