Level One Stand-Up
8-Week Course + Final Grad Show

There’s nothing more exhilarating, exciting, and confidence boosting than performing stand up comedy! It can be intimidating, sure, but with the right guidance and instruction, it’s something that anyone can do. This goal-oriented course will get you up onstage doing stand up for the first time with confidence, joy, and an itch to keep coming back for more! You will emerge from this class with disciplined writing tools, informative personal feedback and important advice, and a solid 5-7 minute set that you’ll be eager to share with the world.

Level Two Sketch
8-Week Course + Final Grad Show
Sundays, 1:00 – 4:00 pm
January 4th – February 22nd, 2026
You’ve started your sketch packet, now let’s make it stronger! This class is an intermediate sketch writing course that will explore more complex styles of sketch writing. Students will learn how to better craft sketches, pitch their ideas with confidence, and expand their writing portfolio. This class also dives into the editing and rewriting process in more depth than our intro level. By the end of the class students will have a solid body of work that can be submitted for shows at DCC and beyond!

Comedy for Mental Health

Level Four Long Form
8-Week Course + Final Grad Show
Mondays, 7:00-10:00pm
January 5th – March 2nd, 2026.
Prerequisite: Level Three Long Form Improv + Accepted Application: SUBMIT HERE.
You’ve learned the rules and tools of improv, so let’s get back to play and put them all together in fun new ways! Level Four Long Form takes the foundation formed in beginner and intermediate levels and builds upon it with fun new forms and structures. Students work toward mastering the Harold as the main form used in the course, which allows performers to give their sets a sitcom-like structure where scenes and beats are revisited to the delight of the audience. Instructor feedback focuses on individualized performance notes designed to call out students’ unique strengths while working to get rid of bad habits. By the end of the class, students become skillful performers who have the skills needed to perform in any show that comes their way!

Level One Storytelling
8-Week Course + Final Grad Show
Mondays, 7:00-10:00pm
January 5th to March 2nd, 2026
No one has a story like yours. No one has experienced this life the way you have. So why not bring your story to life in a way you’ve never imagined before? The art of storytelling is not only a therapeutic experience for yourself, but for those who need to hear it. In this course you’ll learn how to create a clear arc in telling your story, how to emote, and how to keep your audience completely captivated. You will explore popular storytelling modes including TedX and The Moth. You’ll receive focused feedback in a nurturing environment that will help boost your confidence and skills as a storyteller. This course will focus on giving you the tools and confidence you need to tell one story, your story, at your final graduation performance.

Level Three Long Form
8-Week Course + Final Grad Show

Prerequisite: Level One and Two Long Form Improv + instructor approval
Continue your improv journey as we focus on strong listening and reacting without interrupting our scene partners. Being sure that the beginning of your sentence doesn’t interrupt the middle of theirs, you will dive into the world of slowing down- truly hearing the gifts given to us by our teammates, and learning exactly how to play those gifts at the height of your intelligence. Work on first and second beats and group games, while also doubling down on how to pull inspiration from personal stories. Make yourself and your scene partner look like a genius!

You wrote and performed a five minute set in front of a live audience! You rock! Whether you’re doing open mics, booking shows, or even submitting for festivals, it is imperative to have a well developed set that can be delivered with confidence and ease. Students will receive personalized feedback with a focus on stage presence, storytelling, and joke set up. This class focuses on advanced topics including crowd work, hecklers, marketing yourself, and more! Students will emerge from this class feeling confident and ready to take on bigger shows.
