Not sure if you want to take an improv class? Start here! Our bimonthly Improv 101 class is designed for the student who wants to dip a toe into the wild world of improvised comedy.

Spots are limited, so please do not enroll in multiple dates. If you've participated in the past and had a great time consider enrolling in a class!

Intro to Improv takes place at 4:00pm on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. The class will be led by a qualified faculty member from the DCC Training Center. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate. Students age 15 and up may attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. An RSVP is required.

Learn the power of “Yes, and…” in a world that loves to focus on “No, but…” Focus on positive choices, discover the truthful and wonderful characters that live inside each of us, and most importantly: learn to trust that YOU are enough. With the most hours offered in the metroplex, this beginner course will give you the strong foundation you need to confidently take the stage at any improv jam in town! By the end of the class, students will be able to perform hilarious 5 minute improvised scenes with their classmates. Be more confident, follow your instincts, and find the fun in every bit of life.

This class is eight weekly sessions running from April 12th, 2026 to June 7th, 2026. The instructor is Jeff Garlish.

Prerequisite: Level One Short Form Improv

You did it! You finished level one and now it’s time to keep up the momentum of your Improv journey! In Level Two, you'll explore different genres of Short Form games and the underlying concepts that make them successful and fun for performers and audiences alike. Over the course of eight weeks you will form a team with your classmates. The class culminates with a final grad performance in which you will delight your family and friends with your newfound skills!

You wrote and performed a five minute set in front of a live audience! You rock! Whether you’re doing open mics, booking shows, or even submitting for festivals, it is imperative to have a well developed set that can be delivered with confidence and ease. Students will receive personalized feedback with a focus on stage presence, storytelling, and joke set up. This class focuses on advanced topics including crowd work, hecklers, marketing yourself, and more! Students will emerge from this class feeling confident and ready to take on bigger shows.

Ready to take your stories to the next level? In this eight-week adventure, you’ll transform everyday moments into unforgettable stories. We’ll dive into advanced storytelling techniques like non-linear narratives, multi-dimensional characters, and emotionally charged themes. You’ll learn to find hidden stories in daily life, craft relatable plots, and weave in symbols that give your stories depth. With hands-on exercises, collaborative workshops, and plenty of feedback, you’ll build the confidence to captivate any audience.
