LEVEL: Intermediate - previous Stand-Up experience recommended

The Business of Stand-Up Workshop is designed to equip aspiring comedians with the tools to navigate the professional side of comedy. Participants will learn the essentials of the standup business, beginning with "Comedy as a Business" and a simplified guide to becoming a working comedian. Additionally, the session provides a step-by-step guide to securing bookings in a competitive industry. You'll learn about the roles of agents and managers, and strategies to build a loyal following in the standup scene. The realities of making a living from comedy, including the ups and downs, are also discussed, along with tips for managing nerves and staying focused. The session concludes with professional codes for comedy business success and some actionable homework to help kickstart your career.

This class is one (1) two hour session. The instructor is Mike Lukas. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable. All students must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.
