How Comedians Watch Comedy

$50

with Mike Lukas

Calendar Dec 12, 2024 at 7 pm

Readers read stories to escape and to experience a vicarious emotional struggle, whereas a writer reads to break down how that author executed the narrative, the descriptions, and the dialogue. Similarly, the general population watches comedy to escape via laughter regarding someone else’s struggles, whereas a comedian watches comedy for entirely different reasons.

The workshop will break down those reasons and then use actual pro comedians YouTube bits to demonstrate how to “watch comedy” by identifying all those aspects in each piece. Whether you're a seasoned comic or a casual fan, you'll gain a greater appreciation for good comedy writing by the end of this session!

This class is one (1) three hour session. The instructor is Mike Lukas. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable. All students must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.
