Clown Around with Flop School of Clown
with Ely Sellers
Teachers Ely Sellers, and Master Clown Patricia Dos Santos, the founders of Flop-School of Clown, will coach you on how to find your individual clown! What speaks to you? We will explore Theatrical Clown, Silent Clown/Pantomime, Mask, Crowd Work, Improv, Slapstick, and Variety Show.
We will start with the basics: Connection! Being real and vulnerable! Finding joy play! Finding games with the audience! Not being afraid of failure and making mistakes! (The freedom of a flop!) We will teach you how to build characters, and see through their eyes. Learn how to build a world the audience can feel safe to let go and find their own joy through you, the clown.
This class is one (1) three hour session. The instructor is Ely Sellers. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable. All students must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.
Playing to the Height of Your Intelligence
with Jack Ritchey
Do you find yourself hesitating, inventing, or “looking for jokes” when you improvise? Learn to play with confidence, truth, and integrity through exploring the height of your intelligence. In this workshop we’ll pull truth and honesty from the actor and apply that truth on stage in a way that connects you to the audience, gives you plenty of ammunition for laughs, and makes you look smarter than a Harvard Law professor. But hopefully less pretentious.

Improv to Connect
with Madeline Crank
As this holiday season draws near and the howling, freezing winds of winter stay far north of us in Dallas, consider cozying up inside with Improv for Connection. On the evening of Thursday, December 19th, we will sit by the (metaphorical) fireside and reflect on the potential of Improv and Comedy for connection between people, and connection to ourselves. We’ll play some improv games and laugh, but there will be a focus on the ability for improv to connect us as humans and appreciate ourselves and each other in a meaningful way. You might just find it makes the holidays a little sweeter this year!
