Improv for Developing Characters
with Stefan Newman
LEVEL: Intermediate - some Improv experience recommended
Let’s find a character together! This workshop will take you through exercises to find and really dig into a character that you can play in improv scenes, write sketches for, or create a whole one person show out of. We’ll be combining ideas from improv and sketch comedy to create characters that will keep audiences interested in our scenes and begging to see more of them.
This will not be a writing-focued class, but feel free to bring some ideas to start from! This will be all about giving ourselves a game and a framework to play within to discover these characters and get out of our usual play styles.
This class is one (1) two hour session. The instructor is Stefan Newman. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable. All students must adhere to policies in the Dallas Comedy Club Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older to enroll and participate.
